More than Meet the Eyes

You may be thinking you know a lot about someone because they constantly post their life on their social media handles on a daily basis, but little did you know there are a lot of things we don’t tell you.

People write about their opinions, lifestyle, short stories, and about what had happened to them that they find interesting to share with their friends and followers. We do not dive deep because there are boundaries of privacy which we would like to keep dear to our heart; ourselves only.

My friends may find me as a talkative person and indeed I tell them a lot, so they can be up to date with what has been going on in my life; as in bonding. It is like a human thing to do I suppose. Now that I think about it, it is kind of weird. It is like, “Yeah I just ate a whole pepperoni pizza all by myself without dipping it in ketchup just so you know. I don’t know why I am telling you this, my friend, but I just feel like telling you all the details about me. Hah!” Strange, human, very strange, very very strange.

I’d like to think that I am a very private person. However, I also think I share a little too much about myself. Then, I realized that I barely scratch the surface of everything online or even in real life. Do you know about my middle school story? No. Do you know what happened to me during my senior year in middle school specifically? No. Or my high school story? No. Or the juiciest story last year of mine? Also no.

I don’t know why I keep thinking back to that time. I really don’t. Although perhaps it is what inspired me to write this post. I won’t share this with the world though. One reason is that no one cares. Two is that I don’t want to write about it or talk about it out loud.

See? Simple.

Being a vlogger or blogger does not mean that you have to share your life 24/7 with others. I learned that now. I used to see my favorite vloggers record their life daily and post them for the Internet to see and I thought I knew a ton about them, but no. You can switch off the camera if you feel like this is your private moment. You want to immerse yourself fully in the present with your beloved people right here in front of you. Of course, you surely can. Something happened in your life, but you do not want to type it down and upload, then go ahead write it down in your journal instead. You are not obliged to post on the Internet about every little thing.

If you are the type to overshare, brainstorm first. Go over your lists or writing before you click publish. See which part you are not satisfied to put on your site. Do not rush into getting new posts out every day or week.

Therefore, readers and viewers, you may know bits and pieces about our lives; but not us as a person. It takes a lifetime to get to know another human being. Day after day, they change. The ups and downs in life shape you into another person every second. A person is not an open book that you can finish reading and know 100% of who he/she is. In this world, no one is completely a bad or a good person. There are two sides to every story. Thus, you can get to know someone more by communicating and deep understanding.

You will learn more about me on my blog as I’d like to share what I pick up in this journey called life. The lessons I find amusing and worth sharing, so you do not waste your time reading for nothing. x

The most atrocious things usually happen in real life. So as the best moments. Often times, we keep all of those stories to ourselves for they are just so precious. Not even our closest friends and family know about it.

And until we meet again. xoxo
